Bus Detour for No. 161 in Little Ferry – Effective Immediately

Effective immediately and continuing until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Liberty Street will be closed between Redneck Avenue and Main Street due to road construction.   

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 161 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward PABT will travel from Main and Franklin streets, make a right on Franklin Street, left on Redneck Avenue, right on Liberty Street, and then continue the regular route.   
  • Buses traveling toward Paterson will travel from Liberty Street and Redneck Avenue, left on Redneck Avenue, right on Franklin Street, right on Main Street, left on Phillips Avenue, and then continue the regular route.   

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
