Bus Detour for Nos. 83 & 85 in Union City – Sunday, September 28, 2025

Effective Sunday, September 28, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Bergenline Avenue will be closed between 48th and 2nd streets due to the Centennial Parade. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 83 & 85 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Jersey City/Hoboken will travel from Summit Avenue and 30th, continue on Summit Avenue, left on 32nd Street, and then continue the regular route.          
  • Buses traveling toward Hackensack/East Rutherford will travel from 32nd Street and Summit Avenue, make a right on Summit Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
