Bus Detour for No. 1 in Newark – Saturday, August 30, 2025

Effective Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 AM until Sunday, August 31 at 11:00 PM, Ferry Street will be closed between Merchant and Filmore streets due to the Brazilian Day Festival. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 1 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Jersey City will travel from Market and Ferry streets, bear left on Market Street, and then continue the regular route.
• Buses traveling toward Ivy Hill Loop will travel from Flemming Avenue and Mott Street, make a right on Mott Street, left on Raymond Boulevard, bear lefton Market Street, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
