Bus Detour for Nos. 11, 28, GO28, 29 & 72 in Newark – Sunday, August 31, 2025

Effective Sunday, August 31, from 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM, Bloomfield Avenue will be closed between Clifton Avenue and Lake Street due to the Dominican Parade.

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 11, 28, GO28, 29 and 72 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Newark will travel from Bloomfield Avenue and Lake Street, make a left on Lake Street, right on 2nd Avenue, right on Clifton Avenue, left on Bloomfield Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  
  • Buses traveling toward Bloomfield/West Caldwell/Paterson/Montclair will travel from Bloomfield and Clifton avenues, right on Clifton Avenue, left on 2nd Avenue, left on Lake Street, right on Bloomfield Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
