Bus Detour for No. 39 in Newark - Effective Immediately
Effective immediately until Tuesday, December 30, from 12:01 AM to 4:59 AM, the bus lanes on Raymond Boulevard at Penn Station will be closed between Raymond Plaza West and Raymond Plaza East for renovations.
During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 39 in Newark will operate on a detour as follows:
- Buses traveling toward Newark will travel from Raymond Boulevard and Mulberry Street, make a right on Mulberry Street, left on Market Street, end the trip at Penn Station at the eastbound bus stop on Market Street, layover at Francisco Park on Ferry Street or Edison Place, travel to Raymond Plaza West from the layover, make a right on Raymond Plaza East, left on Market Street, make a right on Raymond Plaza West, and then continue the regular route.
- Buses traveling toward Irvington/Livingston will begin the trip on Raymond Plaza West at the main entrance behind the Greyhound Bus Stop, continue on Raymond Plaza West, make a left on Raymond Boulevard, and then continue the regular route.
Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
