Bus Detour for Nos. 871 & 874 in Whippany – Wednesday, July 2, 2025

Effective Wednesday, July 2, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM, North Jefferson Road will be closed between Parsippany Road and Route 10 due to a fireworks display. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 871 and 874 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Morristown will travel from North Jefferson and Parsippany roads, continue on Parsippany Road, right on Route 10, left on South Jefferson Road, and then continue the regular route.      
  • Buses traveling toward Willowbrook will travel from Route 10 and South Jefferson Road, make a right on Route 10, left on Parsippany Road, right on Jefferson Road, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
