Bus Detour for No. 59 in Scotch Plains – Saturday, June 28, 2025

Effective Saturday, June 28, from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM, Westfield Avenue will be closed between Westfield Road and Morse Avenue due to a July 4th fireworks show.    

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 59 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Newark will travel from Westfield Road and Westfield Avenue, make a right on Westfield Road, left on Morse Avenue, right on Brightwood Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  
  • Buses traveling toward Dunellen will travel from Morse and Brightwood avenues, make a left on Morse Avenue, right on Westfield Road, left on Westfield Avenue, and then continue the regular route.   

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
