Bus Detour for No. 9 in Jersey City – Sunday, June 22, 2025

Effective Sunday, June 22, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, West Side Avenue, will be closed between Communipaw Avenue and Montgomery Street due to the Philippine American Friendship Day Parade

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 9 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Newport Centre Mall will travel from West Side and Communipaw avenues, make a right on Communipaw Avenue, left on Bergen Avenue, right on Montgomery Street, and then continue the regular route.  
  • Buses traveling toward Society Hill  will travel from Montgomery Street and Bergen Avenue, make a left on Bergen Avenue, right on Communipaw Avenue, left on West Side Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
