Bus Detour for Nos. 84 & 86 in Jersey City – Wednesday, July 16, 2025

Effective Wednesday, July 16, at 7:00 AM until Friday, July 25 at 5:00 PM, Palisade Avenue will be closed between Paterson Plank Road and Beacon Avenue due to milling and paving.   

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 84 and 86 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Jersey City will travel from Palisade Avenue and Paterson Plank Road, make a right on Paterson Plank Road, left on Central Avenue, left on Route 139 East, right on Palisade Avenue, and then continue the regular route.   
  • Buses traveling toward North Bergen/Union City will travel from Palisade Avenue and Route 139 West, make a left on 139 West, right on Central Avenue, right on Paterson Plank Road, left on New York Avenue, and then continue the regular route.   

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
