RAIL SERVICE UPDATE: Full Rail Service to Restart Tuesday, May 20, 2025

 

NJ TRANSIT and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) have reached a tentative agreement, ending a three-day rail stoppage.

 

Effective Tuesday, May 20, full NJ TRANSIT rail service, including Metro-North service west of Hudson, will restart with the first scheduled train on each rail line.

 

Contingency Service Remains in Effect through Monday, May 19

NJ TRANSIT will continue operating the existing contingency service plan outlined on www.njtransit.com/restart through Monday, May 19.

NJ TRANSIT strongly encourages all those who can work from home to continue doing so on Monday, May 19, and limit traveling on the NJ TRANSIT system to essential purposes only.
