The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice (SSN) is to identify vendors that meet the requirements of the services sought by NJ TRANSIT described herein.  NJ TRANSIT is seeking authorized service providers for Caterpillar 2512C HD high-speed diesel engines that are approved by Caterpillar to work on their engines and generators in order to uphold the basic support, warranty provisions, and EPA certifications. These services entail the overhaul for 70 engines, the overhaul of the generators, the diesel oxidation catalyst systems be renewed, and the engine mounts will be replaced, using the respective OEM materials, transportation, and a five-year warranty.  The timeframe for this work is to take an estimated 4 years. As part of market research, NJ TRANSIT is issuing this SSN to determine if there exists an adequate number of qualified interested service providers that are capable of fulfilling the requirement.  NJ TRANSIT may use the responses to this SSN for information and planning purposes.  Responses to the SSN will not be returned and do not submit pricing information in response to this SSN.
