NEWARK, NJ ¿ The Frank R. Lautenberg Rail Station at Secaucus Junction will connect job seekers and prospective employers Wednesday, October 19, as NJ TRANSIT hosts Job Junction 2005. The event will take place from noon until 5 p.m., with a special preview hour for military personnel starting at 11 a.m. Admission is free, and business attire is suggested.

Confirmed recruiters will be on hand from major New Jersey employers, including UPS, FedEx, The Kintock Group, Allied Barton Security Services, Greyhound Bus Lines, the New Jersey Department Of Transportation, Meadowlink, Illuminations Art, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, NJ TRANSIT Corporation, the NJ TRANSIT Police Department and New Jersey State Police.

"This is an excellent opportunity for job seekers from virtually anywhere in New Jersey or Manhattan to link up with prospective employers under one roof," said Lynn Bowersox, NJ TRANSIT Assistant Executive Director of Corporate Communications and External Affairs. "At the crossroads of 10 commuter rail lines, Secaucus Junction is the ideal location for this event."

Several workshops will be available for job seekers including sessions on interviewing skills and resumé writing. In addition, representatives from DeVry University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology will be available to discuss educational opportunities to increase job seekers¿ marketability.

Prospective employers and job seekers are encouraged to visit www.njtransit.com to register for the event. The registration deadline has been extended through October 12 due to strong interest.

CAMDEN, NJ ¿¿ NJ TRANSIT¿s River LINE has your ticket to the best view of the Liberty Grand Prix Power Boat Race at the Battleship New Jersey on Sunday, October 9, from noon until 3 p.m. ¿ and a way to bring a friend along for half price.

The Battleship New Jersey will give fans the best seat along the Delaware River for the second annual event, and any admission ("tour") ticket allows visitors to watch nearly 50 power boats as they race from the Ben Franklin Bridge to the Walt Whitman Bridge.

Customers who ride the River LINE to the Battleship New Jersey can save on admission to the event by presenting their validated light rail ticket at the Battleship New Jersey box office, along with a coupon from www.RiverLINE.com. Riders will receive one admission ticket at half price with the purchase of an adult admission ticket at regular price.

The cost for a one-way trip on the River LINE is only $1.25, and parking is free at most stations along the route.
