NEWARK, NJ ¿ NJ TRANSIT announced today that crews will begin repainting three railroad bridges in Summit and one in Chatham, with work starting on or about Wednesday, June 20 and continuing for about five weeks.
During the project, motor vehicles will continue to travel in both directions under the bridges, but traffic flow will be constricted to narrow temporary lanes to give workers safe access to the undersides of the spans.
In Summit, the bridges carry trains over Passaic, New Providence and Mount Vernon avenues. In Chatham, the bridge is over Watchung Avenue.
