NJ TRANSIT offers an array of special summertime deals - including money-saving beach packages to the Jersey Shore.

This year, NJ TRANSIT is introducing a brand new beach package to Point Pleasant Beach, partnering with Jenkinson's Boardwalk to offer customers round-trip transportation and beach admission for one low price!

"NJ TRANSIT's summer services offer the perfect opportunity for people to explore all that New Jersey has to offer, with discounted transportation packages that provide comfortable, convenient and affordable access to summer recreation," said NJ TRANSIT Executive Director Richard Sarles. "With the weather warm and gas prices high, more weekend beach-goers are flocking to the Jersey Shore by train this summer - sales of our special beach packages have jumped by more than 50 percent over last year."

This past weekend, NJ TRANSIT reached record-setting ridership for a summer Saturday at more than 104,000 train trips systemwide. Rail ridership for the entire weekend of July 12-13 increased by 6.9 percent over the same weekend last year, making it the second busiest summer weekend on record at more than 180,000 trips.

"We are excited to partner with NJ TRANSIT to offer New Jersey residents an affordable way to enjoy all that Point Pleasant Beach has to offer," said Marilou Halvorsen, Jenkinson's Boardwalk Director of Marketing. "In addition to discounted travel and beach admission, visitors will have easy access to the activities at Jenkinson's Boardwalk."
