- DBE Certification Workshops
-
NJ TRANSIT first developed DBE Certification Workshops in fall 2011. The goal of these workshops is to provide information and support to small, minority and women-owned businesses seeking certification as Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), with the New Jersey Unified Certification Program (NJ UCP). NJ TRANSIT's Business Development Outreach and Certification team designed and deliver the workshop content to enhance understanding of what it means to be a DBE, the federal regulations that apply to the DBE Program, the purpose and function of the NJ UCP, and the certification application and approval process. The workshop includes a detailed walk-through of the DBE certification application document, review of the materials required to complete the application, and an overview of what happens once a business is certified as a DBE.
DBE Certification Workshops are delivered once a month at NJ TRANSIT headquarters (see 2012 dates below), and can be delivered on a limited basis to large audiences at other locations by request. If you are interested in attending a DBE Certification Workshop please visit our Events RSVP page, or would like to request a certification workshop presentation for a group, please email: [email protected] with the subject: "Certification Workshops".

The Regional Alliance of Small Contractors of New York and New Jersey (RASC) is a non-profit small business support and development organization that works directly with NJ TRANSIT's Office of Business Development. RASC has over two decades of experience in providing support services to public and private sector organizations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
For NJ TRANSIT, RASC provides comprehensive capacity building services to support the utilization and participation of small, minority, women and disadvantaged businesses on New Jersey Transit's projects. The capacity building services and courses provided by RASC are lead by knowledgeable and experienced facilitators, in a hands-on classroom setting, on practical topics related to the construction industry. At the request of the Office of Business Development, the Regional Alliance also provides information and support in the areas of software skills, bonding, project estimating, bookkeeping and marketing.
Regional Alliance courses are held at NJ TRANSIT headquarters on rolling basis throughout the year. Please view the calendar below for upcoming courses.
