Bus Detour for No. 87 in Jersey City – Wednesday, July 16, 2025

Effective Wednesday, July 16, at 7:00 AM until Friday, July 25 at 5:00 PM, Palisade Avenue will be closed between Paterson Plank Road and Beacon Avenue due to milling and paving.   

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 87 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Hoboken will travel from Central Avenue and Ferry Street, continue on Central Street, make a right on Paterson Plank Road, continue right on Paterson Plank Road, and then continue the regular route.
  • Buses traveling toward Jersey City will travel from Paterson Plank Road and Congress Street, continue on Paterson Plank Road, left on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
