Bus Detour for No. 1 in Newark - Effective Immediately
Effective Friday, June 6, through Sunday, June 8, from 7:00 AM to 11:59 PM, Ferry Street will be closed between Raymond Plaza East and Merchant Street for the Portuguese Day Festival.
During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 1 will operate on a detour as follows:
- Buses traveling toward Newark/Jersey City will travel from Market Street and Ferry Street, bare left on Market Street, and then continue the regular route.
Note: Short trips ending at Newark Penn Station will travel from Market Street and Ferry Street, make a left on Market Street, left on Van Buren Street, left on Raymond Boulevard, bare left on Market Street (Landmark – TD Bank), and layover along the right side before the traffic lights across from the 7-Eleven store, and then continue the regular route. - Buses traveling toward the Ivy Hill Loop will travel from Flemming and Mott Street, make a right on Mott Street, left on Raymond Boulevard, bear left on Market Street (Landmark – TD Bank), and then continue the regular route.
Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
