Bus Detour for No. 709 in Passaic - Monday, May 26, 2025

Effective Monday, May 26, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Main Avenue will be closed between Henry Street and Gregory Avenue for the Memorial Day Parade. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 709 in Passaic will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Bloomfield will travel from Passaic Street and Market Street, make a left on Market Street, continue on Wallington Avenue, right on Main Avenue, right on River Drive, take Exit 21 South, exit at Exit 11 (Main Avenue), right on Main Avenue, left on Paulison Avenue, left on Broadway, and then continue the regular route.
  • Buses traveling toward Paramus will travel from Broadway and Paulison Avenue, make a right on Paulison Avenue, left on River Drive, right on Main Avenue, left on Wallington Avenue, continue on Market Street, right on Passaic Street, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
