NJ TRANSIT Memorial Day Weekend Transportation – Friday, May 23 through Monday, May 26, 2025

During Memorial Day Weekend, NJ TRANSIT services will operate as follows: 

Rail:

May 23, early getaway service will be offered on bus and rail. 

  • From 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, extra outbound trains will operate on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, Morris & Essex and Port Jervis lines. To accommodate ridership demand, select trains on the NEC, NJCL and RVL will be cancelled or combined. Visit njtransit.com for details and schedules.

 

Saturday, May 24-Sunday, May 25

  • Regular weekend service will operate along with Meadowlands service for the Beyoncé concerts and enhanced Bay Head-Long Branch shuttle service (hourly from approximately 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM).

Monday, May 26

  • Regular weekend/major holiday rail service will operate along with enhanced Bay Head-Long Branch shuttle service (hourly from approximately 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM) and Port Jervis Line extra Train 88 (from Port Jervis to Hoboken).

 

Bus:

May 23 through May 26, during Memorial Day Weekend, NJ TRANSIT bus routes will operate on a weekday, weekend or special schedule. Some routes will not operate.

Extra buses will operate from the Port Authority Bus Terminal on more than two dozen bus routes starting around noon. Visit njtransit.com/holiday-service-guide for details.

Light Rail:

Newark Light Rail will operate on a Saturday schedule, available HERE.

River LINE will operate on a Sunday schedule, available HERE.

Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a Saturday/Sunday schedule, available HERE.
