RIDE THE PASCACK VALLEY LINE "HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS" TO WESTWOOD STATION

NEWARK, NJ - On Saturday, December 1, the Borough of Westwood and the Westwood Fire Department present their annual "Home for the Holidays" event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors can ride NJ TRANSIT's Pascack Valley Line - which recently launched new weekend service - to Westwood Station for an evening of holiday fun that includes a community parade, a visit from Santa, music, refreshments and more!

A "Join the Circus"-themed parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Five Corners (Westwood Avenue and Kinderkamack Road), then continue down Westwood Avenue to Veterans' Park. There, visitors will be greeted by Santa and treated to festive activities including free hay rides and trackless train rides, performances by school and community bands and a tree lighting.

As an incentive to try the new Pascack Valley Line, any fare-paying customer can bring a friend for free during the first two weekends of December, including trips to New York via Secaucus Junction. Simply visit www.njtransit.com/PVL to print out a free "guest pass" that can be presented to the conductor aboard the train.

The Pascack Valley Line was recently upgraded to allow for bi-directional service and now features 121 new trains each week, including new weekend service that enables Bergen County residents to reach great holiday destinations throughout New Jersey and New York without worrying about traffic, parking or tolls.
