NJ TRANSIT OFFERS ADDITIONAL LIGHT RAIL SERVICE FOR POKÉMON GO FEST IN JERSEY CITY
Extra HBLR Weekend Service June 7-8 For Global Event Expected to Bring Thousands to Liberty State Park

NEWARK, NJ – Gotta Catch ‘Em All! NJ TRANSIT will add extra Hudson-Bergen Light Rail trains on the weekend of June 7-8 to and from the Pokémon GO Fest in Jersey City. Thousands of Pokémon fans are expected to descend on Liberty State Park for this major in-person and global event for the game Pokémon GO. HBLR Service to/from Liberty State Park:
Friday June 6th – Regular Weekday Service

For this event, there is no parking for personal vehicles at Liberty State Park.
How to get to Pokémon GO Fest via NJ TRANSIT light rail and bus:
Light Rail
Take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train to the Jersey Avenue or Liberty State Park stops.

Take Bus Route No. 6 to the Liberty State Park stop (Friday only). Important note: The No. 6 bus route does not operate to Liberty State Park on weekends.

The 2025 Pokémon GO Fest events take place in Osaka, Japan (May 29 - June 1), Liberty State Park in Jersey City (June 6-8) and Parc de Sceaux outside Paris, France (June 13-15).
Travel tips
- Check Schedules in Advance: Plan your trip online to take advantage of extra light rail service.
- Allow Extra Travel Time: Traffic congestion may affect bus travel times to and from New York City, so customers should plan accordingly.
- Ticketing: Purchase round-trip tickets at the start of your trip to speed your return and use the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, which is available for free download on any web-enabled iOS or Android device, to make the purchase even easier. To make a purchase, customers simply install the app and then create an account, which will securely save a customer’s profile information and purchase history for ease of use. Customers can also use ticket vending machines or see a ticket agent, if available, to avoid possible surcharges.
