Port Authority Bus Terminal (New Midtown Bus Terminal) Construction Impacts – Effective Immediately

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) is currently advancing a major construction project at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) as part of its transformation into a new, expanded Midtown Bus Terminal. The project will replace the existing terminal with a modern, state-of-the-art facility, improving bus operations and the passenger experience while creating a more accessible, connected gateway to Midtown Manhattan. 

This long-term, multi-phase project will have ongoing impacts on NJ TRANSIT bus operations in and out of the existing terminal throughout the duration of the construction. While this project is being led by PANYNJ, NJ TRANSIT will continue to work closely with them to ensure impacts to service are minimized to the greatest extent possible. 

Customers traveling to and from PABT are strongly advised to allow for extra travel time to account for possible delays and/or changes to gate assignments.
