NJ TRANSIT RE-LAUNCHES POPULAR “FLEXPASS” TICKET OPTION
Discounted Multi-Ride Ticket Option Supports Hybrid and Variable Work Schedules
February 10, 2026
NEWARK, N.J. – NJ TRANSIT’s FLEXPASS is back by popular demand! In response to customer feedback, NJ TRANSIT is re-launching FLEXPASS on February 15. The ticket option allows customers to purchase 20 one-way tickets at a 15% discount and use those tickets over a 30-day period. For customers who travel only a few times per week, FLEXPASS may be their best value.
FLEXPASS tickets will be available for bus, rail and light rail, and will be offered for purchase via the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) and at ticket offices.
FLEXPASS was originally introduced in 2021 as a pilot ticket option as a result of changes in commuting patterns during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are pleased to bring back FLEXPASS, one of our most popular ticketing options,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kris Kolluri. “We listened to our customers when they said they wanted more flexible options to match their travel needs, and FLEXPASS provides that flexibility combined with significant savings for commuters.”
A FLEXPASS can be purchased at any time of the month, and FLEXPASS sales are non-refundable. Customers may only buy and own one FLEXPASS per mode at a time.
Important Notes:
- A FLEXPASS will consist of 20 one-way tickets between one customer-selected origin and one destination, sold at a 15% (total) discount to face value.
- FLEXPASS will be valid on Bus, Rail and Light Rail, and is available for purchase via the NJT Mobile App, TVMs and Ticket Offices.
- A FLEXPASS can be purchased at any time of the month. Customers may only purchase another FLEXPASS when all 20 tickets associated with their current FLEXPASS have been used or the 30-day expiration date has expired.

- FLEXPASS sales are non-refundable.
- Customers may only buy and own one FLEXPASS per mode at a time.
- All tickets associated with a FLEXPASS have a 30 calendar day expiry, and the expiration clock commences when the FLEXPASS is purchased. Expiration of FLEXPASS tickets may not be paused or frozen.
- Tickets associated with a FLEXPASS will appear exactly like a current one-way ticket and will not have any marks indicating it is associated with a FLEXPASS.
- If a user activates one of their 20 FLEXPASS tickets by mistake, they should contact customer service as soon as possible.
