DeCamp Service Discontinuation Information

NJ TRANSIT TO IMPLEMENT EMERGENCY BUS SERVICE TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVES FOR DECAMP CUSTOMERS.

NJ TRANSIT is operating emergency bus service to provide as many alternate transit options for former weekday bus customers of DeCamp as possible. This service includes extending four existing NJ TRANSIT bus routes that accommodate approximately 85% of former DeCamp customers.

It is important to note that this emergency service plan only includes weekday peak periods for the four modified bus routes and does not duplicate DeCamp routes in their entirety, though the variants do mirror many portions of the current routes. During weekends and off-peak weekdays, customers are advised to utilize existing NJ TRANSIT services.

The four modified NJ TRANSIT routes depart NYC from Gate 208 at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Effective September 2, the former West Essex/West Hudson NJ TRANSIT routes that were designated to offer alternative options for DeCamp bus customers to and from Porth Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) in New York, will now have their own bus routes listed as follows:

  • DeCamp’s Route 66 is now NJ TRANSIT Route 101, servicing West Orange, Montclair, and Clifton – PABT (Gate 208, Door 2).
  • DeCamp’s Route 33 is now NJ TRANSIT Route 102, servicing Bloomfield and Clifton – PABT (Gate 208, Door 1).
  • DeCamp’s Route 33 is now NJ TRANSIT Route 105, servicing West Caldwell-Essex Mall, Caldwell, Verona, Cedar Grove, Little Falls (Great Notch), and Clifton – PABT (Gate 208, Door 3).
  • DeCamp’s Route 44 is now NJ TRANSIT Route 109, servicing Newark, Belleville, Kearny, North Arlington-Loop, and Lyndhurst – PABT (Gate 208, Door 4).

Note: Printed and electronic timetables, trip planner, and ticket vending machines have been updated to reflect the new bus routes.

Customers are encouraged to download the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App or use the “Plan Your Trip” feature found on njtransit.com for all available alternatives.
