On Sunday, May 21, from 7AM to 4PM, westbound North Jersey Coast Line trains operating between Long Branch and Bay Head as well as Bay Head-bound shuttle trains departing from Long Branch, will be subject to delays of up to 10 minutes from to maintenance work on the Red Hill Road overhead bridge in Middletown.

Beginning Thursday June 1 and continuing until Friday, June 9, North Jersey Coast Line trains will be subject to delays due to a crossing rehabilitation project on Main Street in Matawan:

  • From 9AM until 3PM on weekdays
  • From 7AM until 7PM on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4

The following trips are subject to delays:

  • On eastbound (to Newark/New York) trains from Aberdeen-Matawan to New York.
  • On westbound (to Long Branch) trains from Hazlet to Long Branch.
  • On westbound Bay Head shuttle trains (from Bay Head to Long Branch).

On Saturday, May 13, NJ TRANSIT customers can take North Jersey Coast Line trains to Monmouth Park Station when the track is open for live racing. This year, live racing runs through Sunday, September 10.

North Jersey Coast Line weekend schedule is available HERE.

NJ TRANSIT rail service to Monmouth Park will operate on the following days:

  • Fridays: June 2 to August 25
  • Saturdays: May 13 to September 9
  • Sundays: May 14 to September 10
  • Holidays: Memorial Day (May 29) and Labor Day (September 4)

On Saturdays until further notice, North Jersey Coast Line trains will be subject to delays of up to 10 minutes from 7AM until 4PM due to infrastructure maintenance.

  • Eastbound from South Amboy to New York
  • Westbound trains from Perth Amboy to Long Branch, including connecting Bay Head shuttles.

Also during this period, trains may operate in both directions on one track at South Amboy and Perth Amboy. 

Customers should check which direction the train is traveling in and listen carefully to pre-boarding announcements.
