New York Penn Station

On Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3, from approximately 6:30AM until 4:30PM each day, Midtown Direct and Montclair Line trains will incur delays of up to 15 minutes due to overhead wire maintenance:

  • Eastbound (to New York/Hoboken) trains will be delayed toward Hoboken, Secaucus, and New York.
  • Westbound (to Dover/Bay Street) trains will be delayed at all stops between Newark Broad Street and Dover/Bay Street stations. Connecting Gladstone Branch trains may also be delayed from Summit to Gladstone. 

NOTE: During this time, all trains at Newark Broad Street will arrive and depart from Track 2 in both directions. Customers will walk along the platform to transfer between trains.

Beginning at the start of service Saturday, November 2, and continuing until the end of service on Sunday, November 3, buses will replace trains between Bay Head and Long Branch to support signal improvements. 

A complete busing schedule will be available during the week of October 28, 2024.

Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible

On Saturday, October 19, from 7AM until 7PM, North Jersey Coast Line trains may be subject to delays of up to 15 minutes due to maintenance near Woodbridge Station. Eastbound trains may be delayed by up to 15 minutes from Perth Amboy Station eastward. Westbound trains may be delayed by up to 15 minutes from Rahway Station westward.

Possible delays of up to 20 minutes

Effective Saturday, October 19, from approximately 7AM until approximately 7PM North Jersey Coast Line trains may experience delays of up to 20 minutes between Rahway and Woodbridge stations due to track repairs.

This includes all trains in both directions between Long Branch and New York, as well as connecting shuttle trains operating from Long Branch to Bay Head.

On Saturday, October 19, trains along the Gladstone Branch will operate on a modified schedule as follows due to the Far Hills Steeple Chase:

  • From 8AM until 1:30PM, rail service will operate from Summit to Far Hills ONLY, making all Gladstone Branch stops. During this time, most Gladstone Branch trains will originate at Hoboken and make additional stops between Hoboken and Summit.
  • From 4PM until 7PM, Gladstone Branch rail service will operate from Far Hills to Hoboken ONLY, with trains following a special schedule and making all stops.
  • Except for the times and in the directions listed above, and all day at Gladstone and Peapack Stations, Lakeland Bus service will replace rail service.

Effective Tuesday, September 3, and continuing until approximately Friday, November 15, a portion of the NJ TRANSIT waiting room at Penn Station New York will be closed due to renovations.

During this time, customers may continue to utilize the available open seating in this area. More seats are available in the waiting room area (Rotunda) on the 8th Avenue side of the station.
