Newark Airport Station: AirTrain Service replaced by Shuttle Bus – Beginning Thursday, January 15, 2026

From 5:00 AM until 3:00 PM on most weekdays through late May, the AirTrain will be replaced by a Port Authority shuttle bus service at Newark Airport Station to support work on the AirTrain Newark Replacement Program. AirTrain service will operate normally on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as during certain holiday and vacation periods where airport travel is heavier.

NJ TRANSIT trains will continue to make normal stops at Newark Airport Station throughout this project.  

Staff from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will direct arriving customers to the appropriate airport terminals. Additional information regarding the AirTrain Newark Replacement Program is available here.
