Road Closures Near Hoboken Terminal for DEP Flood Protection Project – Effective Immediately
Effective immediately and continuing until further notice, sewer work will occur in South Hoboken for a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) flood-protection project. During this time, pedestrian foot traffic and certain NJ TRANSIT bus routes in Hoboken will be temporarily impacted. Work in areas adjacent to Hoboken Terminal will take place overnight from 9PM to 5AM in an effort to mitigate commuter impacts.
This project is designed to divide portions of the existing combined sewer system into separate sanitary and stormwater lines in order to improve the physical, ecological, economic and social resilience in regions affected by Superstorm Sandy. Visit the “Rebuild By Design – Hudson River” page for further details on this project.
