TAKE NJ TRANSIT TO WRESTLEMANIA WEEK AT THE MEADOWLANDS APRIL 4-8, 2013

NEWARK, NJ — Professional wrestling fans attending WrestleMania Week activities from April 4 through 8—including WrestleMania Axxess, WrestleMania 29 and Monday Night Raw—have a convenient and affordable travel option from New York City and points throughout New Jersey via train service to Secaucus Junction, with connecting buses to the IZOD Center and connecting trains to MetLife Stadium. 

 

For added convenience, spectators traveling from New York City to WrestleMania events can easily purchase round-trip transportation tickets online at njtransit.com.

 

For WrestleMania Axxess and Monday Night Raw, NJ TRANSIT will operate train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting shuttle bus service to the IZOD Center.  For the main event, WrestleMania 29, NJ TRANSIT will operate train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting train service to MetLife Stadium. 

 

Service will operate as follows:

 

  • Thursday, April 4 – WrestleMania Axxess (IZOD Center):  Train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting shuttle bus to the IZOD Center starting at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until 30 minutes after event concludes.
  • Friday, April 5 – WrestleMania Axxess (IZOD Center):  Train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting shuttle bus to the IZOD Center starting at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until 30 minutes after event concludes.
  • Saturday, April 6 – WrestleMania Axxess (IZOD Center):  Train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting shuttle bus to the IZOD Center starting at 6:30 a.m. and continuing until 30 minutes after event concludes.
  • Sunday, April 7 – WrestleMania Axxess (IZOD Center):  Train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting shuttle bus to the IZOD Center starting at 6:30 a.m. and continuing until 30 minutes after event concludes.
  • Sunday, April 7 – WrestleMania 29 (MetLife Stadium):  Train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting train service to MetLife Stadium starting at  2:30 p.m. and continuing until 2 hours after event concludes.
  • Monday, April 8 – Monday Night Raw (IZOD Center):  Train service to Secaucus Junction with connecting shuttle bus to the IZOD Center starting at 6 p.m. and continuing until 30 minutes after event concludes. 

 

Shuttle Bus Service

 

Events at the IZOD Center will be served by shuttle buses that will depart from the street level of Secaucus Junction at the Laurel Hill Drive North Taxi area. Trip time from Secaucus Junction to the IZOD Center is approximately 15 minutes depending on traffic. Shuttle buses returning to Secaucus Junction will depart IZOD Center outside Gate C.

 

Meadowlands Rail Service

 

MetLife Stadium, located just steps from the Meadowlands Rail Station, will be served by trains from/to Hoboken Terminal and Secaucus Junction with easy connections from New York and points throughout New Jersey. On Sunday, April 7, Meadowlands Rail service will begin at 2:30 p.m. and operate every 30 minutes until 4 p.m., then every 10 to 20 minutes until the start of WrestleMania 29 at 6:30 p.m. During the event, service will operate hourly. Once WrestleMania 29 ends, and for two hours thereafter, trains will depart the Meadowlands every 10 to 20 minutes, or as they are filled. Trip time is approximately 10 minutes. Travel tips:

 

  • Purchase round-trip tickets in advance:
    • Customers traveling from New York City can purchase transportation tickets online.  Simply visit njtransit.com and go to “Ticket Options,” then click “Meadowlands Ticketing” and follow the easy steps.
    • From all other locations, purchase tickets from a ticket vending machine or ticket window using "Meadowlands Sports Complex" as your destination.  Your tickets will be valid for rail transportation to Secaucus Junction, as well as bus service to the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

  • Plan ahead by using NJ TRANSIT’s online Trip Planner.  If you are traveling from New York on the weekend, please be aware of gaps in the train schedule to allow for necessary track work and be sure to arrive at New York Penn Station at least 15 minutes prior to departure.

  • Ride to Secaucus Junction. The station is served by trains on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Midtown Direct (Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton), Main, Bergen County, Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines. Raritan Valley Line and Newark Light Rail customers can transfer at Newark Penn Station to continue their trip. Customers on Hudson-Bergen Light Rail should transfer at Hoboken Terminal.

  • Transfer to the Meadowlands. At Secaucus Junction, step off the train and go upstairs into the station.  Customers connecting from Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Midtown Direct trains must use their ticket to pass through the fare gates inside the station. Each ticket will open the fare gate one time. Then follow the signs to the rail or bus loading area. For MetLife Stadium, Meadowlands trains board on Tracks G and H. For IZOD Center events, buses depart from the designated bus loading area outside the station.
