NJ TRANSIT EXTENDS BUS SERVICE TO MOUNTAIN CREEK SKI RESORT

Provides Easy Access and Discounts for Skiers and Snowboarders

NEWARK, NJ, December 13, 2002 – This season, skiers and riders will find it easier than ever to hit the slopes. NJ TRANSIT and Mountain Creek Ski Resort are teaming up to provide weekend and holiday service to the mountain beginning Thursday, December 26.

The new bus service will be an extension of the current No. 194 New York-Newfoundland bus route from Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City.

The service will be available weekdays (December 26-31) and every weekend throughout the winter season until March 2, as well as holidays. The bus will leave the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 7:30 a.m., stop at Willowbrook Mall Park/Ride at 8 a.m., and reach Mountain Creek at approximately 9:12 a.m., allowing for a full day on the mountain. The bus will depart Mountain Creek at 4:30 p.m., arriving back at Willowbrook at 5:40 p.m. and the Port Authority at 6:12 p.m.

The round trip bus fare from Port Authority Bus Terminal will be $16.90 for adults (ages 11 and older) and $7.60 for children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Round-trip fares between Willowbrook Mall Park/Ride and Mountain Creek will be $6.40 for adults (11 and older) and $2.90 for children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

With a valid NJ TRANSIT yellow bus fare receipt in hand, skiers can enjoy a discount on day lift tickets, adults (age 23 and older) $9 off and youths (age 7-22) $5 off.

Customers should purchase their round-trip bus tickets prior to boarding the bus. Tickets are available at ticket windows and Ticket Vending Machines at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. At Willowbrook Mall Park/Ride, tickets are available at Ticket Vending Machines.
