You can visit ships docked at various locations in the city. For more information about NYC Fleet Week 2025, visit their website here.

Special Promotion
NJ TRANSIT is honoring the brave men and women who are serving in the United States Armed Forces with complimentary rides throughout the system during Fleet Week 2025. Beginning May 21 through May 27, active-duty and reserve members of the military and National Guard ride for free on NJ TRANSIT while in uniform or by displaying a Military ID. To take advantage of this offer, simply board any New York City-bound NJ TRANSIT bus or train and show your military uniform or ID to the operator or conductor. No ticket or fare is required.
Military Discount
The brave men and women who have worn the uniforms of the United States armed services have incurred a debt that we can never adequately repay. The special discount offered by NJ TRANSIT is one small token of New Jersey's appreciation of their service.
- Military personnel and their dependents may use the one-way reduced ticket upon presenting their valid military or military-dependent ID cards. Eligible military personnel include Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard, and those with official "Retired" status from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.
- Veterans with service-connected disabilities may present a valid Veterans Affairs (VA) identification card which indicates "service connected" to use the one-way reduced ticket option.
When purchasing your ticket from a ticket vending machine or through MyTix (on the app), select Senior/Disabled to obtain the discounted fare. Tickets also may be purchased at ticket offices at stations.
Careers for Military Veterans
We're committed to being an employer of choice for Veterans and active military members because we recognize and value their unique experiences, skills, and knowledge. Through recruitment and partnership efforts, we strive to offer the support and resources our Veterans need to succeed in our community and workforce.
We believe that the experience gained from military service can translate well into a number of our positions. By the nature of military service, many veterans are an exemplary match for our agency and our customers and will help support NJ TRANSIT’s mission to become a world-class public transportation provider.
At NJ TRANSIT, we support and depend upon the diversity of our staff.
