Convo at NJ TRANSIT
What is Convo?
Convo is a deaf-owned company that provides instant access to professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters through live video. Deaf and hard-of-hearing people can connect directly with interpreters in real time — no app download required.
Convo and NJ TRANSIT
NJ TRANSIT has partnered with Convo to make it easier for deaf and hard-of-hearing customers to communicate directly with NJ TRANSIT staff instantly and without needing to download an app. By scanning a Convo QR code displayed at Newark Penn Station, customers can instantly connect with a live ASL interpreter who facilitates conversations with NJ TRANSIT Customer Service and ticket agents at Newark Penn Station. This new tool provides instant, on-demand interpreting assistance, ensuring clear and accessible communication when purchasing tickets, obtaining travel information, or seeking assistance. No downloads. No setup. Just scan the QR code and start communicating.
NJ TRANSIT plans to explore expanding Convo availability to additional stations in the future.
