HOLIDAY SERVICE – Memorial Day Weekend (Friday, May 22 – Monday, May 25)

NJ TRANSIT is kicking off Memorial Day weekend with “early getaway” rail and bus service on Friday, May 22 to accommodate customers heading out early for the holiday weekend.

On Monday, May 25th, NJ TRANSIT services will operate on modified schedules in observance of Memorial Day.

Train service will operate a regular weekend/major holiday schedule with enhanced Bay Head-Long Branch shuttle service (hourly from approximately 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM) and Port Jervis Line extra Train 88 (from Port Jervis to Hoboken). 

Bus and Light Rail service will operate on modified schedules.

NJ TRANSIT operates on a holiday schedule on the following days: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Service levels may differ from regular weekday or weekend schedules. Customers are encouraged to check schedules in advance and allow extra travel time when planning trips on these dates.
