Newark Airport Rail Station: Boarding Changes on the Track 5 Platform - Effective Friday, April 24, 2026, Until Further Notice
For approximately five weeks, the western portion of the Track 5 platform (toward the front of the train) at Newark International Airport Station (EWR) will be closed to allow the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to work on extending the overhead pedestrian bridge to a new station entrance near Frelinghuysen Avenue.
Customers traveling to EWR Station from New York, Secaucus, or Newark should board toward the back of the train. This will allow for faster boarding and alighting.
Please allow for extra travel time. We appreciate your patience.
For further details on Port Authority’s AirTrain Newark, call (212) 435-7000 or visit https://www.newarkairport.com/to-from-airport/air-train. Check EWR’s Construction Advisory for all scheduled construction and maintenance.
