Atlantic City - the only gamble you shouldn't take is the drive.
Skip the Expressway traffic and the parking fees. NJ TRANSIT connects to Atlantic City by rail and bus from across New Jersey and the region.
Atlantic City is the kind of place where the plan is loose by design. The tables, the boardwalk, the shows — you're not trying to optimize your night, you're trying to enjoy it. Take NJ TRANSIT from New York, Philadelphia, or anywhere in New Jersey, and you can do exactly that. Excursion fares are a deal before you've even sat down. And when the night winds down, your ride home is already sorted. Everything in between is yours.

Free Casino Shuttle from the Rail Terminal
Arriving by train? The AC Jitney Association operates a complimentary shuttle service between the Atlantic City Rail Terminal and all Atlantic City casinos — and back again for your return train.
How It Works
- Exit the rail terminal, go downstairs, and board one of three complimentary shuttles. No ticket needed.
- Service runs only in connection with NJ TRANSIT train arrivals and departures — not at other times in between.
- Heading back? Shuttles pick up at casinos 25 minutes before your train departs, so you make it back to the terminal on time.
- Train shuttle stops are marked with an NJ TRANSIT sign — don't confuse these with regular jitney stops.
- For assistance, call AC Jitney dispatch anytime between 8am and 11:30pm, seven days a week: (609) 415-8060.
This service is provided to NJ TRANSIT customers only — those arriving and departing via the Atlantic City Rail Line.

What's Waiting in Atlantic City
The Boardwalk
One of the most famous oceanfront promenades in the world — four miles of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and ocean views. The original boardwalk, the one that inspired the game, and still one of the best ways to spend a summer day in New Jersey. A short walk from the rail terminal or bus terminal, or hop the free casino shuttle and walk over from your property.
Atlantic City Beach
A wide, free public beach running the full length of the city, accessible directly from the boardwalk with no fee required. One of the few genuinely free beaches on the Jersey Shore — no beach badge, no parking, no hassle. Just show up.
Steel Pier
The iconic amusement pier jutting out over the Atlantic Ocean at Virginia Avenue — rides, games, food, and views of the city skyline from the water. A fixture of the Atlantic City boardwalk since 1898 and one of the most recognizable landmarks on the Shore. Good for families, good for a group looking for something beyond the casino floor. steelpier.com
Live Entertainment
Atlantic City's casino venues host headline performers in music, comedy, and boxing throughout the year. Hard Rock Live, Borgata Event Center, Ocean Casino Resort's Ovation Hall, and the Atlantic City Convention Center all stage major shows that draw crowds from across the region. Getting there by train means you never have to leave early to beat the parking lot.
Dining
Atlantic City's restaurant scene is better than its reputation suggests. The Borgata alone has drawn more James Beard–recognized chefs than most cities its size. Beyond the casino floors, the White House Sub Shop on Mississippi Avenue has been making legendary hoagies since 1946 — worth the detour. The boardwalk runs the full range from salt water taffy and boardwalk fries to proper sit-down restaurants with ocean views.
The Casinos
Atlantic City's casinos are the heart of the city — each one its own destination, with gaming, dining, live entertainment, spas, and nightlife under one roof. With the free AC Jitney shuttle timed to train arrivals, hopping between properties is easy.

Atlantic City Convention Center
One of the largest convention centers on the East Coast — over 500,000 square feet of exhibit and meeting space, adjacent to the Atlantic City Rail Terminal. If you're attending a conference or trade show, you can walk off the train and straight through the door. No rideshare, no parking, no navigating an unfamiliar city.

Who Are You? Find Your Best Way to Ride.
- Casino Players & Sports Bettors
Atlantic City is the gaming capital of the East Coast, and every casino on the floor is within a short jitney ride of the Rail Terminal. Take NJ TRANSIT and the only odds you need to think about are the ones at the table. Route 319 from New York or the Rail Line from Philadelphia — either way, you're in the right seat before you've even arrived. Check the schedule before you go and note that the last train from Atlantic City Rail Terminal departs around 10:51pm on weekdays and weekends — plan your session accordingly. Buy your excursion ticket in advance and let the ride handle itself.
- From New York
Bus Route 319 from Port Authority Bus Terminal is the direct shot — express service with limited stops at Newark Penn Station and Jersey City Journal Square, and an excursion round-trip fare valid for 10 days. No transfers, no connections, no thinking about it. Extra summer trips start June 20, 2026. Buy your ticket on the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App before you board.
- From Philadelphia & South Jersey
From Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, the Atlantic City Rail Line is a straight shot — no transfers, no bridge toll, no Expressway. The free casino shuttle is waiting at the terminal when you arrive. If you're in South Jersey near the rail corridor — Cherry Hill, Lindenwold, Hammonton, Egg Harbor City — you may be closer to the action than you think. And if you're coming by bus, Route 551 offers one of the best excursion deals in the region.
- Overnight Guests
Staying at a casino hotel? The train is an especially strong call. No parking fees stacking up while you're inside. No car to deal with after a long night. The Atlantic City Rail Terminal is steps from the casino district, and the free AC Jitney shuttle connects you to every property on arrival. Check in, enjoy the whole stay, and board the train home when you're ready.
- Families & Groups
Atlantic City has more for families than most people expect. Steel Pier has been running rides over the ocean since 1898. The boardwalk is four miles of free entertainment. The beach has no badge and no fee. Take NJ TRANSIT and skip the parking lot scramble — arrive at the terminal, hop the free shuttle, and the boardwalk is a short walk away.
