Everything New York doesn’t have. 30 minutes away.

America’s only indoor ski slope. A record-breaking indoor theme park. A year-round water park that doesn’t care about the weather. All under one roof, 30 minutes from Midtown.

None of it is in New York City. All of it is 30 minutes from Midtown by NJ TRANSIT. American Dream’s 3 million square feet of entertainment, shopping, and dining are entirely indoors — which means it doesn’t matter if it’s 95 degrees in July or a blizzard in February. Board the #355 at Port Authority Bus Terminal, skip Route 3 entirely, and walk off the bus steps from the entrance.

Why Take NJ TRANSIT to American Dream?

  • Skip Route 3 and the Turnpike — Weekend traffic to the Meadowlands is reliably heavy. The #355 gets you there in under 30 minutes from Port Authority Bus Terminal while everyone else is sitting in it.
  • Connections from across North Jersey — Local routes serve Hoboken, Union City, Paterson, Passaic, Hackensack, Paramus, and surrounding communities.
  • On MetLife Stadium event days, arrive without the parking surcharge — When the Giants, Jets, or a major concert is in town, parking at American Dream jumps to $30–$70 or more. NJ TRANSIT fares don’t change.

How to Get to American Dream

By Express Bus — Route #355 (From New York City)

The #355 offers direct, one-seat express service from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT), Gate 305 to American Dream. The trip takes under 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions — no transfers needed.

Weekend & Holiday Service

Hourly departures from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, 8:00am – 9:00pm. Return service from American Dream departs hourly, 10:00am – 11:00pm.

Weekday Service

Weekday service on the #355 is limited. There are only two departures from Port Authority Bus Terminal — at 10:00am and 12:30pm. Return trips depart American Dream at 7:00pm and 9:30pm only. If you miss the 12:30 pm departure, there is no further outbound service until the following day. Plan your trip carefully or consider visiting on a weekend.

Family SuperSaver Fares do not apply to Route #355.

Buy your round-trip ticket on the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App before you leave. Gate 305 is well-signed from the main PABT entrance — allow extra time if it’s your first visit to Port Authority.

Local Bus Service

Three local NJ TRANSIT bus routes provide daily service to American Dream, connecting communities across North Jersey. All local buses require exact fare in coins or $1 bills if paying cash — drivers do not carry change. Using the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App, Tap & Ride, or a FARE-PAY card is recommended.

Family SuperSaver Fares are accepted on Routes #85, #703, and #772. If you’re travelling with kids, these local routes are a great option.

  • Route #85 — Hoboken Terminal to American Dream, via Union City and North Bergen. American Dream is the western terminus of the route.
  • Route #703 — Paterson and Passaic (Haledon) to East Rutherford, with stops at American Dream. ⚠ On MetLife Stadium event days, Route #703 does not enter the Sports Complex property beginning two hours before the event through one hour after. During this time, the 703 operates along Paterson Plank Road with stops on request at designated NJ TRANSIT bus stops.
  • Route #772 — Hackensack and Paramus (Bergen Community College) to the Meadowlands, with stops at American Dream. Includes Saturday and Sunday service.

What’s Inside American Dream

American Dream has attractions you genuinely cannot find anywhere else in the New York region. Here’s what’s waiting — all of it indoors, all of it open year-round.

Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park

The western hemisphere’s largest indoor theme park — over 35 rides including record-breaking roller coasters, all inside and climate-controlled. No weather cancellations, no sunburn, no rain delays

DreamWorks Water Park

An indoor water park with over 40 slides and attractions, open year-round regardless of the weather outside. The only indoor water park of its scale in the region — which means a July heatwave in New York City is actually the best possible reason to visit.

Big SNOW Ski & Snowboard

America’s only indoor real-snow ski and snowboard slope — and it’s open in July. Whether it’s a first lesson for a beginner or a cold-weather fix in the middle of summer, Big SNOW is genuinely unlike anything else in the Northeast.

The Rink

An NHL regulation-size indoor ice skating rink — open for public skating, figure skating, and hockey. Year-round, climate-controlled, and a genuinely good time whether you can skate or not.

TiLT Museum & LEGOLAND Discovery Center

TiLT is an interactive 3D art installation experience — immersive, photo-friendly, and genuinely disorienting in the best possible way. LEGOLAND Discovery Center and SEA LIFE Aquarium, New Jersey’s first, are ideal for families with younger children.

The Avenue — Luxury Retail

New Jersey’s only Saks Fifth Avenue, alongside Hermès, Tiffany & Co., Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent, and dozens of other flagship stores. Open on Sundays — which matters more than it sounds, since retail in Bergen County is closed on Sunday. Take the 355, spend the afternoon, and skip the parking structure entirely.

Shopping

Beyond The Avenue, American Dream has over 450 stores across all categories — H&M, Uniqlo, Primark, Lululemon, Sephora, Zara, and more. All indoors, all year-round, and all reachable in under 30 minutes from Midtown without a car.

Dining

Full-service restaurants include Yard House, House of ‘Que, and Carpaccio. The Coca-Cola Eats food court covers the quick-service bases: Popeyes, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, PORA Ramen, and more. Check americandream.com/dine for the full current lineup and hours.

Hours and ticket availability vary by attraction and season. Check americandream.com before you visit and purchase attraction tickets in advance where possible — some experiences sell out, particularly on weekends.

Who Are You? Find Your Best Way to Ride.

Visitors from New York City

The easiest day trip from Midtown — no car, no stress, no Route 3 traffic. Catch the #355 express at Port Authority Bus Terminal, Gate 305. One seat, no transfers, under 30 minutes. Weekend hourly service runs from 8:00am and the last return is 11:00pm, so you have the full day. Buy your round-trip ticket on the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App or at the Port Authority before you leave.

Families

American Dream was built for families, and NJ TRANSIT makes it easier to get there without the parking lot scramble with kids in tow. Note that Family SuperSaver Fares do not apply to Route #355 but do apply to the local routes #85, #703, and #772. Children ages 5–11 travel at half price, and up to three children 4 and under ride free with a paying adult. On weekends and holidays, up to two kids (5–11) ride free with a fare-paying adult. For groups of 8 or more, group travel options are available.

Shoppers

American Dream is the only place in New Jersey where you can hit Saks Fifth Avenue, Hermès, and Primark on the same afternoon — and it’s open on Sundays. Take the #355 from Port Authority, spend as long as you need, and catch a return whenever you’re done. Weekend return service runs until 11:00pm.

North Jersey Locals

American Dream is in your backyard, and NJ TRANSIT gets you there without the Route 3 approach. Routes #85, #703, and #772 connect from Hoboken, Union City, Paterson, Passaic, Hackensack, and Paramus directly to American Dream — no expressway, no parking. Family SuperSaver Fares are accepted on all three local routes. Use the Trip Planner to find the stop nearest you.

American Dream Employees

NJ TRANSIT is one of the most reliable ways to get to work at American Dream — no parking fees, no Route 3 backup on a busy event day. Routes #85, #703, and #772 connect from Hoboken, Union City, Paterson, Passaic, Hackensack, and Paramus, with service that accommodates a range of shift schedules. Monthly passes and 10-trip tickets are available on the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App, at ticket vending machines, and at major terminals.

International Visitors

Visiting New Jersey from abroad? The #355 from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan is the most direct connection from a major New York City hub. Buy your tickets at Ticket Vending Machines or the Ticket Office at the Port Authority — no special transit card, no MetroCard, no cash required. Allow extra time if it’s your first visit to the Port Authority.

Seniors & Riders with Disabilities

Reduced fares are available at all times on NJ TRANSIT. All NJ TRANSIT buses are 100% ADA accessible. Learn more about Reduced Fares and Access Link ADA paratransit service.

Ticketing & Fares

NJ TRANSIT Mobile App

The most secure way to buy NJ TRANSIT tickets. Available free from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Buy, store, and scan your ticket before you board — especially recommended for the #355 from Port Authority.

Tap & Ride

Tap your credit card, debit card, or smartphone at the validator at the front of the bus. Let the driver know your destination. That’s it — no app, no cash, no special transit card required.

FARE-PAY Card

The FARE-PAY card is NJ TRANSIT’s reusable fare card — available at major terminals and ticket vending machines. A better option than carrying cash, especially on local bus routes where exact fare is required.

Ticket Vending Machines & Ticket Offices

Available at major terminals including Port Authority Bus Terminal for cash and card purchases before you board.

⚠ If paying cash on a local bus, drivers do not carry change — have exact fare ready. Using the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App, Tap & Ride, or a FARE-PAY card avoids this entirely.

What New York doesn’t have is 30 minutes away.
