NEWARK, NJ ¿ It¿s the perfect time of year to share the holiday spirit¿and holiday savings! For the next two weekends, NJ TRANSIT is offering customers the ability to bring a friend on the Pascack Valley Line for free, including the return trip and connecting train service.
For maximum savings, families can combine the bring-a-guest-free offer with NJ TRANSIT¿s Family SuperSaver, which allows up to two children (11 and under) to ride free with a fare-paying adult. By combining both offers, a family of four traveling from Montvale could take a roundtrip to New York for just $11.75¿a savings of $23.75 off regular weekend fares.
Customers simply visit www.njtransit.com/PVL and click on "Ride Free" to download a guest pass and present it when riding the Pascack Valley Line on the weekends of December 13-14 or December 20-21. The guest pass allows for complimentary round-trip travel for any customer accompanied by a fare-paying adult, and also allows the guest to transfer to other trains via Secaucus Junction.
The bring-a-friend-free offer is only valid from New Jersey stations along the Pascack Valley Line. The line serves the municipalities of Wood-Ridge, Teterboro, Hackensack, River Edge, Oradell, Emerson, Westwood, Hillsdale, Woodcliff Lake, Park Ridge and Montvale.
NJ TRANSIT launched expanded service on the Pascack Valley Line on October 28, 2007, including bi-directional and weekend service that enables Bergen County residents to reach great holiday destinations throughout New Jersey and New York without worrying about traffic, parking or tolls.
