NEWARK, NJ ¿ Starting at 2 p.m. Saturday and continuing through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, NJ TRANSIT will modify service due to the expected major winter storm, as follows:

  • Service on the Northeast Corridor Line will operate every hour. Weekend express service is cancelled.
  • MidTOWN DIRECT trains will operate to and from Hoboken instead of New York. Westbound trains will depart Hoboken at their scheduled New York times.
  • Cross-honoring remains in effect, enabling customers to use their NJ TRANSIT tickets and passes on any mode¿train, bus or light rail. Tickets will also be cross-honored on PATH trains between 33rd Street and Hoboken.
  • Anticipated heavy snow is likely to result in the 197 bus not operating its entire length, affecting customers in the Warwick area. Customers on this line may call (201) 612-1162 for contingency plans.

Every effort will be made to continue operating bus service throughout the state. However, with more than a foot of snow expected, customers may experience delays or cancellations on their routes.

All NJ TRANSIT customers are strongly encouraged to check www.njtransit.com for up-to-the-minute system information before starting their trip. Service information is also available by calling 1-800-772-2222 or from broadcast traffic reports.

As a reminder, customers should give themselves plenty of extra time to get to the station. Use extreme caution when walking on exposed sidewalks and station platforms and when boarding trains and buses.
