NEWARK, NJ ¿ This Saturday, September 9, the Colonial Burlington Foundation and the City of Burlington Tourism Council present the 36th annual Wood Street Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., along the 200 and 300 blocks of historic Wood Street in Burlington, NJ. Visitors can ride NJ TRANSIT¿s River LINE directly to Burlington Towne Centre Station for a day of food, arts and crafts, and music!
The open-air street fair includes 200 unique crafters featuring collectibles and antiques, plus food courts, fine art exhibitions and free tours of historic sites, such as the Revell House 1685 and 1876 Carriage House. Free deck tours aboard New Jersey¿s Tall Ship ¿A.J. Meerwald¿ will be offered from noon to 3 p.m., with evening and night sailings available for a fee (for tickets call 1-800-485-3072).
Enjoy the fair and stay for the music at the Riverfront Jazz Festival 2006¿featuring renowned smooth jazz artists¿starting at 3 p.m. on the Riverfront Stage.
The cost for a one-way trip on the River LINE is only $1.25, and parking is free at most stations along the route. Take the kids and save with NJ TRANSIT¿s Family Super Saver Fare, which allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult every weekend from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.
