NJ TRANSIT ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR LABOR DAY HOLIDAY
NEWARK, NJ, August 28, 2002 -- On Labor Day -- Monday, September 2 -- NJ TRANSIT trains and the Newark City Subway will operate on a Sunday schedule. Most NJ TRANSIT buses will also operate on a Sunday schedule. However, some routes in north Jersey will follow Saturday schedules. Bus passengers should check their timetables for exact information on Labor Day service. Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will follow a weekend schedule on Labor Day. NJ TRANSIT will operate early getaway trains on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast and Raritan Valley lines on Friday, August 30. Northeast Corridor North Jersey Coast Line Raritan Valley Line The statewide transit agency's bus and rail Weekend Family Super Saver Fare, which allows two children 11 and under to travel free with each fare-paying adult, will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday, August 30 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 3. Senior citizen and round-trip excursion tickets will be valid without restriction throughout the period.
