NEWARK SUBWAY STATION TO BE RENAMED FOR VETERANS

State Senator and Newark Deputy Mayor Ronald L. Rice and the Vice Chairman of the Newark Commission of Veteran Affairs James Collura will join NJ TRANSIT Executive Director George D. Warrington and veterans at a ceremony to dedicate the old Broadway Street Station on the Newark City Subway (NCS) to veterans and rename the stop Military Park Station.

The newly named station, located on the corner of Raymond Boulevard and Park Place, is across the street from Military Park. The park was designed as a training place for soldiers when the city was planned in 1667.
