Munr Kazmir
Dr. Munr Kazmir is a physician, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and civic leader whose career bridges medicine, civic leadership, and international Jewish advocacy. For more than three decades, he has combined professional excellence with a deep commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, advancing U.S.–Israel relations, and serving vulnerable communities. He is an advocate for people with diabetes.
Dr. Kazmir has been a leading figure in Jewish and pro-Israel advocacy for decades, serving on the boards or leadership bodies of the American Jewish Congress, Republican Jewish Coalition, NORPAC, American Council for World Jewry, JINSA, MEMRI, and numerous other Jewish and civic organizations. Alongside his Jewish and pro-Israel leadership, Dr. Kazmir has built a distinguished record of bipartisan political engagement. He has worked with leaders and members of Congress from both parties to advance Jewish communal priorities, combat antisemitism, and strengthen the U.S.–Israel partnership.
Through his engagement with the American Jewish Congress, where he serves as Vice President, Dr. Kazmir has helped lead mayoral delegations to Israel, most recently at the 2025 International Mayors Conference, bringing city leaders from around the world into direct dialogue with Israel’s top Israeli leaders, including the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister, and exposing them to Israel’s security challenges, innovation, and democratic values.
Alongside his Jewish leadership, Dr. Kazmir has built a distinguished record of civic engagement. He has been appointed by multiple administrations to senior advisory and governance roles, including Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority, Vice Chairman of the New Jersey Lottery Commission, Member of the U.S. Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee, Member of the National Advisory Committee for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Member of the White House Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria, and Board Member of the National Council on Disability.
From 2006, he has also served on the Board and Executive Committee of the National Federal Drug Enforcement Foundation, supporting federal law-enforcement agencies in combating narcotics trafficking and organized crime. He has further served on advisory boards for the DEA, FBI, and ATF, earning commendations for his support of public safety, veterans, and families of fallen officers. In 2024, he was appointed as a Board Member of the Drumthwacket Foundation in New Jersey.
Dr. Kazmir is a healthcare entrepreneur. In 1991, he founded Quality Home Care Providers, which has delivered medical services to hundreds of thousands of patients, including underserved populations, the homeless, and individuals living with HIV. In 1998, he founded Direct Meds, Inc., a licensed multi-state pharmacy operating in New Jersey and Kentucky. He is also co-founder of Kazmir Group LLC and Kazmir Capital, and a licensed real estate broker in multiple states, including New York and New Jersey.
His philanthropic work extends globally. Dr. Kazmir co-founded the American International School System and the AISS Foundation, which provide American-based education and scholarships to underserved students across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He has worked with governments and civil society leaders in Israel, Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt, Korea, and Albania on education, women’s empowerment, democratic governance, and interfaith dialogue.
His contributions have been recognized with the Theodor Herzl Award, which was given by the Prime Minister of Israel, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Bonei Yerushalayim Award, and the Maimonides Award, along with numerous humanitarian and civic honors. He has also been recognized by the Korean National Assembly and appointed a Goodwill Ambassador of the Bektashi Community of Albania.
Dr. Kazmir earned his medical degree from the University of Punjab and completed postgraduate training in Pakistan before completing his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center and SUNY Downstate, with additional training at Baylor College of Medicine and Methodist Hospital in Houston. He has maintained continuous professional accreditation throughout his career. In recognition of his leadership and public service, he received an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the Rabbinical College of America in 2001 and an Honorary Doctorate in Political Science from Dankook University in 2019.
