Film & Photography Permits

Any person wishing to take photographs or video or create artwork for any type of commercial purpose or use must first obtain a permit from NJ TRANSIT's Real Estate Development & Planning Division. NJ TRANSIT's decision to approve or reject commercial use requests will be based on the impact to its core business mission of providing safe, reliable, convenient, and cost-effective transit service with a skilled team of employees, devoted to our customers' needs and committed to excellence.

All requests for use and access on NJ TRANSIT property must adhere to the following policies and requirements:

•  Commercial Productions – for feature films, television shows, commercials, streaming content, or large-scale professional projects. For NJ TRANSIT’s Film and Photo Shoot Requirements, click here.
• Bus Reroute/Stop Skip (Case-by-Case Basis) – for productions requiring adjustments to bus service or temporary stop closures. Note: Request must be made well in advance and are subject to operational approval.

Film & Photography Requirements

NOTE: All filming, photography, or event permits require insurance coverage. A sample Certificate of Insurance (COI) can be found here.
