All Aboard the Wilder Express!
There’s something special about a young boy and trains. Wilder McGraw takes it to another level when it comes to NJ TRANSIT trains.
Following a recent move to Ridgewood, NJ, Wilder became fascinated with NJ TRANSIT. So much so, his mom, Jordi, and dad, Ross, take Wilder regularly to the train station so he can watch the trains pull in and out of the station, and wave to the locomotive engineers, train crew members and customers.
In early June, “Operation Wilder” went into effect as an NJ TRANSIT-themed 3rd birthday celebration commenced with family and friends. It included an NJ TRANSIT train ride between Ridgewood and Waldwick (with Conductor Jamie Gonzalez-Rullan posing for pictures with Wilder and his family), a train-themed restaurant stop, a custom-made NJ TRANSIT train cake, and a visit to an outdoor train layout. After we learned of Wilder’s story, our Marketing team made arrangements to meet him and his mom at Ridgewood Station to present him with a few extra NJ TRANSIT-themed gifts. Of course, Wilder wasted no time playing with his new trains!
If you happen to be passing through Ridgewood Station, keep an eye out for a beaming three-year-old and be sure to wave hello. We’re hoping to see Wilder on our system for years to come!
