NJ TRANSIT EARTH DAY: Tweet/Instagram to Win a Flexpass!

Entries are received via Twitter or Instagram by tweeting a designated entry post with a NJT-related Earth Day image using #NJTEarthDay and/or #NJTCelebrate during the established Sweepstakes period (12:01am to 11:59pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021). Prizes will be awarded by a judging panel to 3 Twitter/Instagram users who enter the Sweepstakes via their respective Twitter or Instagram account and present the most visually striking image which illustrates how NJ TRANSIT helps the individual celebrate Earth Day.

How to Enter: This Sweepstakes is exclusive to Twitter and Instagram.

Limit one entry per person. All discovered entries made in violation of these rules - such as tweeting the entry phrase from multiple accounts–are ineligible. You must enter from an accurate, functioning Twitter or Instagram account, for which you are the authorized owner, in order for your entry to be eligible. Follow @NJTRANSIT on both Twitter and Instagram to be notified via Direct Message if you are selected as a winner. It is an entrant's responsibility to track his/her authorized Twitter or Instagram account and connected email address for notification via Direct Message of their potential prize. 

Winner Selection: Three winners will be selected. The winners will be chosen by a judging panel convened by the NJ TRANSIT Chief Marketing Officer, consisting of 2 members of the NJ TRANSIT Communications Department and 3 NJ residents who are not NJ TRANSIT employees or their relations. Judging will occur on or about April 23, 2021 from all eligible entries received via Twitter and Instagram during the Sweepstakes Period. The winner(s) will be notified within approximately one (1) business day after the selection is made via Direct Message to the Twitter or Instagram account used during entry. A winner will have one (1) business day to reply, agreeing to accept the prize and providing/confirming full contact information. Failure to confirm and provide the information above will signify to NJ TRANSIT that the prize has been forfeited and another potential winner will be randomly selected.

General: By participating in this Sweepstakes, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Sweepstakes administration will be managed by NJ TRANSIT, whose decisions are final and legally binding. No participant or winner shall have the right to contest any decision by NJ TRANSIT, concerning any aspect of the Sweepstakes. NJ TRANSIT reserves the right to disqualify any entry from the Sweepstakes if it is suspected that entrant has not complied with these Official Rules. Void where prohibited by law. Subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Prize (or any part of a prize package) cannot be transferred, exchanged, refunded or sold. All expenses after receipt and use of the prize and any federal, state and local taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the prizewinner. 

Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to individuals 18 years or older. Employees of NJ TRANSIT, its promotional partners and advertisers, their families and household members are not eligible to win.

Personal Information: NJ TRANSIT does not share with any third party, personal information which we collect including your e-mail address, postal address, home or work telephone number provided for the purpose of participating in sweepstakes, games or subsequent correspondence. NJ TRANSIT may use this information to inform you of upcoming promotions or special events.

Prizes: 3 NJ TRANSIT Flexpass ticket products, between the origin and destination of the user’s choice. Estimated value: $100 each.

Publicity: Participation in the sweepstakes constitutes consent to use of each winner's name, likeness, voice, opinions, and the mentioning of each such person’s hometown, state and country for advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media without limitation, all without further payment or consideration, notification or permission.

Conditions:  NJ TRANSIT reserves the right to alter, suspend or cancel this sweepstakes or any portion thereof, at any time without further notice. By entering, entrant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify NJ TRANSIT and all promotional partners, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents, against any and all liability, damages, or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of entrants participation in this sweepstakes or use of the prize awarded herein. Prizes are nontransferable and may not be redeemed for cash or any exchange. Requests for prize substitution will not be honored. NJ TRANSIT is not responsible for any lost, late, delayed, illegible, incomplete, or misdirected entries. NJ TRANSIT is not responsible for computer system, website, phone line, technical hardware, software, program or server failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions or network connections or any other difficulties which are human or technical in nature. NJ TRANSIT is not responsible for electronic communications which are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering of any kind or insufficient space in entrant's email account to receive email messages.

NJ TRANSIT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or suspend this sweepstakes should any computer virus, bugs or other technical difficulty or their causes beyond the control of NJ TRANSIT corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the sweepstakes. 

Copyright holders retain copyright of their work. For awarded pictures, copyright holders grant the NJ TRANSIT unlimited non-exclusive use of high- resolution pictures for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the contest, the exhibition, the yearbook, the public archive, and all promotional and educational activities for and under the auspices of the NJ TRANSIT, without any remuneration being due.
