A feature of the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App, MyTix provides customers the convenience of buying and displaying tickets and passes securely from a mobile device.

MyTix is also available for travel to Meadowlands Rail Station (event days only) and will be updated to include more NJ TRANSIT service and ticket types. Getting Started
After installing the app, create an account to begin purchasing tickets. Your profile and a history of your ticket purchases are saved in your account. If you have any questions or issues downloading the app or setting up your account, please contact NJ TRANSIT Customer Service at http://njtransit.force.com/customerservice/MyTixFeedback or call 973-275-5555. Operator assistance is available from 8:30 am. to 5:00 p.m., daily.

MyTix Ticket Options

Bus

One-Way and Round-Trip Tickets - Tickets are available for most bus routes. One-way tickets can be used for one trip for the number of zones indicated on the ticket. Tickets do not expire until activated and are non-refundable. Once activated, tickets remain valid for 30 minutes (Intrastate) to one hour (Interstate).

Ten Trip Tickets - Ten-trip tickets are valid for ten one-way trips. Some ten-trip tickets are discounted. Discounted ten-trip bus tickets are valid for 20 days. Full-fare ten-trip bus tickets are valid until used.

Monthly Passes – Unlimited travel within the number of zones purchased during a calendar month (valid until midnight of the last day of the month). Passes can be purchased beginning the 19th of the previous month through the 10th day of the month for which the pass is valid.

Light Rail

Monthly Passes – Unlimited travel within the number of zones purchased during a calendar month (valid until midnight of the last day of the month). Passes can be purchased beginning the 19th of the previous month through the 10th day of the month for which the pass is valid.

Rail

Round-trip and One-way Tickets - Tickets are valid in either direction between stations. Tickets do not expire until activated and are non-refundable. Once activated, tickets remain valid for two hours 45 minutes.

Monthly Passes - Unlimited trips between two rail stations during a calendar month (valid until noon of the first business day of the following month). They can be purchased beginning the 19th of the previous month through the 10th day of the month for which the pass is valid.

Weekly Passes - Unlimited trips between two rail stations from 12:01 a.m. Saturday through 6:00 a.m. on the following Saturday. On sale beginning Thursday and continuing through Tuesday.

Discounted Fares

Children's Fares - Children (ages 5-11) save 50 percent and up to three children (ages 4 and under) ride free with a passenger paying any valid fare.

Family SuperSaver Fares - On weekends and holidays, up to two kids (ages 5-11) can ride free with a passenger paying any valid fare. In effect from 7 p.m. Friday (or the day before a holiday) until 6 a.m. Monday (or the day after a holiday).

Senior Citizen and Customers with Disabilities Fares - Senior citizens (62 and older) and customers with disabilities can travel on NJ TRANSIT trains at a reduced fare of half the regular one-way fare or less at all times.

Military Personnel and Their Dependents - All military personnel and their dependents will be permitted to purchase transportation at the senior citizen/passenger with disabilities reduced fare rate with their valid military or military dependent ID card. You may be required to present your valid ID card upon request. The following military personnel are entitled to this fare: Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard or retired members from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard. When purchasing your ticket through MyTix, select Senior/Disabled to obtain the discounted fare.

Ticket Use
Tickets must be activated prior to boarding. Once activated, train tickets expire after two hours 45 minutes, bus tickets expire after one hour. When boarding, simply display your activated ticket to the conductor, operator or fare inspector.

Monthly passes self-activate at 12 a.m. on the first day of the calendar month for which it is valid and remain valid throughout the entire month. Weekly passes self-activate at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and expire at 6:00 a.m. the following Saturday. Simply display your activated ticket or pass to the conductor, operator or fare inspector.
