New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ TRANSIT) will hold a public meeting to present its preliminary Triennial Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Agency Goal for professional services, construction and other federally funded procurement contracts, for Federal *Fiscal Years 2020, 2021 and 2022, pursuant to US Department of Transportation guidelines under 49 CFR Part 26.

[*Note: Federal Fiscal Year begins October 1st and ends Sept 30th.]

During the meeting, NJ TRANSIT will provide a presentation on its goal development process, and considerations that factored into the preliminary goal. After the presentation, NJ TRANSIT will solicit comments from businesses that have contracted, subcontracted, or sought contracting opportunities with NJ TRANSIT in the past three years. NJ TRANSIT will be especially interested in comments relating to:

  • Difficulties or barriers firms have faced when bidding as prime contractors/consultants, sub-contractors/subconsultants, or vendors.
  • Whether business owners believe their race, ethnicity, or gender impacted the contracting opportunities they received and/or their business partnership experience on NJ TRANSIT contracts.
  • The experience of DBEs and prime contractors of solicitation for bids or price quotes from DBEs on projects with and without DBE goals.
  • Business owners' experiences accessing capital, bonding and insurance.
