NEWARK, NJ, December 5, 2002- NJ TRANSIT is providing early getaway service for its bus and rail customers today as the snow continues to fall.

In addition to its regular weekday schedule, the following service enhancements are being implemented:


One additional Northeast Corridor train departing Penn Station New York at 1:54 p.m., making stops at Newark Penn Station, Newark International Airport, Metropark, Metuchen, Edison, New Brunswick, Princeton Junction, Hamilton and Trenton.

One additional North Jersey Coast Line train departing Penn Station New York at 1:30 p.m., making all stops to Long Branch, where connecting service to Bay Head is available.

One additional MidTOWN DIRECT train departing Penn Station New York at 1:50 p.m. and making all local stops to Dover.

One additional Raritan Valley Line train departing Newark Penn Station at 12:30 p.m., making all stops to Raritan.

Also on the Raritan Valley Line, the regularly scheduled 1:06 p.m. departure from Newark Penn Station will be extended from Raritan to High Bridge, making all local stops.

Extra cars will be added to several existing trains departing Hoboken Terminal during the early afternoon.
