Come Out and Enjoy the Music

NEWARK, NJ, September 12, 2002 -- Come out and enjoy a day in the park with live jazz music. NJ TRANSIT joins the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders' presentation of Jersey Jazz by the Lake on Saturday, September 21. The annual event, also co-sponsored by Comcast, will be held in Nomahegan Park on Springfield Avenue in Cranford from 12:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., rain or shine. Admission is free for everyone.

Jersey Jazz by the Lake will feature Arturo Sandoval and Alex Bugnon, along with many other talented jazz artists. The Kids Kingdom Traveling Jubilee will offer children many activities, including arts and crafts, kids stage, rides and a mardi gras parade.

NJ TRANSIT runs rail service from Newark Penn Station to Cranford on the Raritan Valley Line. Tickets are available at all train stations. Connecting bus service is available to the park.

NJ TRANSIT also offers a Weekend Family Super Saver Fare discount for those travelling to the event. The Super Saver Fare allows two children 11 and under to travel free with each fare-paying adult on weekends. The Super Saver Fare is available beginning at 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday. Senior Citizen and round-trip excursion tickets will be valid without restriction throughout the period.
