Large crowds anticipated at Oct. 24-27 horse-racing event

NEWARK, NJ - Convenient transportation to and from Monmouth Park for this year's Breeders' Cup horse races is a sure bet on NJ TRANSIT's North Jersey Coast Line, with trains making a total of 77 Monmouth Park Station stops over the four-day meet that includes two days of The Breeders' Cup Championships, one of the horse-racing world's premier annual events. Monmouth Park Station is within walking distance of the race track.



On Wednesday, October 24 through Friday, October 26, eastbound trains from Bay Head or Long Branch start serving Monmouth Park at 11:50 a.m., with a total of 15 eastbound trains stopping at the station until 12:27 a.m. The first westbound train from New York arrives at the park at 11:03 a.m., with a total of 18 westbound trains serving the station until the 12:07 a.m. departure from the park.

Train service to and from the park on Saturday consists of at least one train per hour in each direction throughout the day. Race fans should note that admission to the park on Saturday requires a ticket purchased in advance.

Saturday's first eastbound train is scheduled to serve the park at 5:12 a.m., while the final eastbound train will depart from Monmouth Park at 12:27 a.m., arriving in New York at 2:03 a.m. The first westbound train from New York will arrive at Monmouth Park at 7:28 a.m., while the final westbound train of the day will depart from the park at 12:28 a.m. and arrive at Bay Head at 1:19 a.m.

Eastbound Saturday service includes an additional trip from Bay Head arriving at Monmouth Park at 10:42 a.m.; three extra shuttles from Bay Head to Long Branch with connecting service to New York including stops at Monmouth Park Station at 11:12 a.m., 1:12 p.m. and 4:12 p.m.; and two additional trips from Long Branch to New York Penn Station, departing Monmouth Park Station at 6:25 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.

Westbound service on Saturday includes two additional trains from New York Penn Station to Long Branch, serving Monmouth Park at 10:22 a.m. and 11:22 a.m.; an additional shuttle to Bay Head departing Long Branch at 1:41 p.m.; and an additional trip to Bay Head departing Monmouth Park at 6:08 p.m.

Special Breeders' Cup NJ TRANSIT passes are available at and are good for travel to and from Monmouth Park Station on all NJ TRANSIT transportation modes.
